By booking a trip with us it is understood that you agree to these Terms and Conditions and Binding Arbitration Agreement.

Booking Conditions, Payments, and Cancellations

Tours require a $500 non-refundable deposit (per participant) to secure your spot. The remaining balance is due 90 days before the start of the tour. If we do not receive your final payment by that time, we cannot guarantee your space on the tour. 

Tours require a minimum of 6 participants to run. If we do not reach that number by 90 days before the start date of the tour, we will cancel the tour and issue you a refund for all payments made. If we need to cancel the tour for any reason, all payments will be fully refunded. 

Cancellations up to 90 days in advance of the tour will receive full refunds (minus the non-refundable deposit). If you cancel up to 60 days before the start of the tour there is a 50 percent cancellation fee. Cancellations closer than that cannot be refunded. All tour changes must be made in writing to hello@tastehungary.com.

If you leave a trip for any reason after it has begun, or if you do not attend any of the activities on the trip, no refunds will be made. 

Travel Insurance

The trip cost does not cover travel insurance. We strongly recommend that you purchase trip insurance, as we cannot take responsibility or make exceptions for refunds due to medical reasons, family emergencies, flight issues or delays, weather, strikes, war, quarantine, or acts of God or other causes beyond our control. Personal travel insurance also generally includes medical assistance, emergency medical evacuation, trip cancellation, and stolen or damaged luggage. 

Flexibility and Itinerary Changes

Pricing and itineraries are accurate at the time of publication on our website, but might change in the future. Organizing trips like this requires flexibility, and individual itineraries may change based on vendor availability and other factors. Each itinerary is representative of the types and scope of activities that will be included in the trip, but the route, activities, and schedules may be subject to change without prior notice. While we aim to operate all trips as described, we reserve the right to adjust the itinerary if needed.

Dietary Restrictions & Food Allergies

We are happy to accommodate most dietary needs whenever it is possible, so if you have any, please let us know before booking so we can make sure it will be be fine. We try to be as flexible as possible, but our tours are based around traditional cooking, so special dietary needs and restrictions will require advance planning and preparations on our part. Meals can easily accommodate plenty of vegetarian options. If you have other food allergies or intolerances, please discuss it with us to find out if this trip can be the right fit for you. However, It is not possible to accommodate all dietary restrictions or allergies on every trip. During our trips you will be responsible for determining whether the foods and drinks are consistent with your dietary requirements. We are not responsible for cross-contamination, or instances where the food does not meet your dietary preferences. 

Inclusions

Trip prices include all items listed in the published itineraries: accommodation, meals, activities, tastings, transport, sightseeing, guiding, etc. Most gratuities are included, with the exception the tour guides (which are at your own discretion). 

Exclusions

The trip price does not include anything not listed in the itinerary, including (but not limited to): flights, transport to the tour starting point, individual travel insurance, food and beverages that are not included (such as on days when there is free time during a meal), personal expenses, single supplements, any trip preparation expenses (passport, visas, gear or other supplies, and insurance), and gratuities trip leaders and tour guides. Any outside activities that you participate in during your trip are done at your own risk and responsibility, and we are not liable for them in any way. 

Age & Health Requirements

All participants must be at least 18 years old by the date of travel. Eighteen is the legal drinking age in most of Europe. Exceptions are only valid if we discuss and approve it in advance of your booking. We  do not have an upper age limit, although each guest must be healthy, fit, and mobile enough to allow for full participation without assistance from the tour leader. Days will be full and active, and often include a good amount of walking (often in outdoor areas, hilly vineyards, or on uneven surfaces). If you have concerts, please contact us in advance of booking so we can discuss your individual suitability for the trip in question. If you have any pre-existing medical or other conditions which may affect your participation in the trip, please let us know in advance. You are required to take full responsibility for your medical, psychological, and physical condition during the duration of the trip. If any health-related issues arise during the trip, you must immediately notify your trip leader and take full responsibility for promptly accessing necessary and appropriate medical care. You must take full responsibility for having sufficient medical insurance for coverage during your trip. 

Passport & Visas

All travelers must have a valid passport, visa (if required), and other documentation that is necessary to enter Europe. We are not responsible for any expenses that may arise as the result of missing or incorrect travel documentation. We may ask for your passport or a copy of it in advance of the trip, for our records and planning purposes. 

Participant Responsibility 

In addition to taking responsibility for being in sufficiently good health to join the trip, you are responsible for following all local laws and regulations. You are responsible for reading all predeparture information which we share with you; for bringing all recommended equipment and clothing mentioned on the trip packing list; and for behaving in a manner which is considerate of all fellow group members, the tour leader, and the countries visited. We ask you to refrain from smoking and vaping when you are wit the group, and to note that smoking is not permitted in vehicles, in most hotels, in restaurants, or in other designated nonsmoking areas. You are responsible for following all local laws regarding prescription and nonprescription drugs. Cannabis or cannabis products are prohibited. Weapons and drones are prohibited on our trips.

Tour Authority

Our trips are run by experiences trip leaders, and their decisions must be adhered to in order to preserve the overall safety, comfort, and well- being of the group. Failure to comply with the decisions of the group leader, or interfering with the comfort, well-being, or mobility of the group, may result in being asked to leave the trip immediately, and with no right of refund. Should you be asked to leave a trip in progress, there will be no refund of any portion of the trip cost, and you will be responsible for any additional expenses incurred as a result of this dismissal. You must comply with local laws at all times. You are solely responsible for the consequences of any unlawful transgressions or violations, 

Acceptance of Risk

You acknowledge that you are participating in this trip voluntarily, and that travel involves a degree of personal risk. It is your responsibility to be informed about relevant travel information and the nature of your itinerary. You acknowledge the inherent hazards and risks involved in travel, such as using motor vehicles and boats; the forces of nature; civil disturbance; terrorism; government restrictions among many unforeseeable other risks. You acknowledge that you are physically and emotionally fit and able to participate in this tour, and that you have taken your own potential limitations into account and accept any and all risks.

Photographic Release

It is acknowledged that you give us the irrevocable and unrestricted right to take, use, and publish photographs and/or video recordings in connection with the trip. These images may be used for any lawful purpose, including but not limited to publicity, marketing, advertising, social media, website content, and promotional materials in any medium now known or later developed. You agree that you will not receive any compensation, royalties, or financial gain for the use of such images, and that you waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product. You release Taste Hungary from all claims, demands, and liabilities whatsoever in connection with the use of said photographs.

You irrevocably grant Taste Hungary the right to use any photographs and videos which you share with us, in any and all media formats, for purposes including but not limited to publicity, marketing, advertising, social media, website content, and promotional materials in any medium now known or later developed. Photographs and videos are considered to be shared with us if you have given us access to them in any way, including but not limited to emailing them to us, uploading or saving them in a shared digital folder (such as the album created for trip participants for sharing photos during or after the trip), sharing them tin the What’sApp grou for tour participants, or making them visible to us on social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook.

Complaints

If you have a complaint about the trip please inform your tour leaders as soon as possible, in order for them to attempt to rectify the matter. If satisfaction is not reached through these means, any further complaint should be submitted in writing to us within 30 days of the end of the tour. 

Binding Arbitration

In order to participate in a Taste Hungary trip, we require to to sign and acknowledge the following statement:

I have read the above agreement and voluntarily agree to sign this document. I acknowledge that no oral representations or inducements apart from this agreement have been made, and that this agreement cannot be altered or waived, except in writing, and then signed and consented to by both parties.

I agree that any dispute concerning, relating or referring to this Agreement or to the trip, shall be resolved exclusively by binding arbitration pursuant to the Federal Arbitration Act, 9 U.S.C. §§1-16, either according to the then existing Commercial Rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) or pursuant to the Comprehensive Arbitration Rules & Procedures of the Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services, Inc. (JAMS). Such proceedings will be governed by substantive (but not procedural) District of Columbia law and will take place in Washington, DC. The arbitrator and not any federal, state, or local court or agency shall have exclusive authority to resolve any dispute relating to the interpretation, applicability, enforceability, conscionability, or formation of this contract, including but not limited to any claim that all or any part of this contract is void or voidable. By agreeing to these terms and conditions, you (and we) are waiving our right to a trial by jury. This Terms & Conditions & Binding Arbitration Agreement shall be legally binding upon myself, and if applicable, my children or wards under the age of 18 at the time of my signing this document. It is my intention fully to assume all of the risk of travel and to release Taste Hungary from any and all liabilities to the maximum extent permitted by law. This Terms & Conditions & Binding Arbitration Agreement is applicable to any trip to which I may transfer. I acknowledge that by participating in a Taste Hungary trip, I am doing so willingly and of my own volition.
